Hattie A. Lancaster - Sunday evening when Mr. Lancaster returned home he found his wife on the floor, where she had fallen by a stroke of paralysis. Mrs. Lancaster is in very critical condition, as this is the second stroke she
has had, and she has a babe only three weeks old.

Indpendence Bulletin-Journal - 23 June 1898

Mrs. A. Lancaster died at her home in this city Sunday evening at 5 o'clock from a stroke of paralysis that came on her a week ago Sunday. The deceased was a daughter of Mrs. L. O. Hillman of Stanley and was born on a farm near that place, November 1, 1854. She was married to A. Lancaster January 28, 1889. She was converted early in
life and since lived a consistent member of the M. E. church. Besides her husband and three small boys, one a babe less than a month old, she leaves her mother, five brothers and three sisters to cherish her memory. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the M. E. church, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Wyrick. The remains
were interred in the Otsego cemetery.
