George E. Neil 1876-1957

George Erwin Neil, was born
April 8, 1876, son of the late
George and Margaret Cook Neil,
and died July 28 at the Sumner
hospital.
Mr. Neil had resided on the
same farm for his entire life and
had retired in his later years. He
was the last descendant of the
Neil family.
He is survived by his wife the
former Cora Bentley, and five
children, Margaret (Mrs. Robert)
Nichols, Hazleton; Gordon, Fairbank;
Helen, (Mrs. Richard) Snyder,
Fairbank; Dorothy (Mrs. Lester)
Weber, Hawkeye, and Mary
(Mrs. Frank) Miller, of Fairbank.
Nineteen grandchildren and one
great grandchild also survive.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, one brother, three
sisters, one son, three daughters
and one granddaughter.
Services were held in the Mehodist
church Wednesday at 2:30
p.m. with the Rev. J. DeLong officiating.
Mrs. Leland Ford at the
organ, accompanied Mrs. John
Rechkemmer and Mrs. Del Haberkamp,
who sang two selections,
"The Old Rugged Cross" and
'Beyond the Sunset."
Flowers were in charge of Mrs.
A. H. Neiman, Mrs. Emmett Durham,
Mrs. Wright Jolley and Mrs.
Kenneth Burnett. Casket bearers
were Dale Neil, Howard Durham,
Dean Nichol, Richard Snyder,
Melvin Neil and Gary Weber.
Burial was in the family lot at
the Fairbank cemetery.
