Mrs. James (Ella May) Palides 1888-1957

Mrs. James (Ella May) Palides, 69, Tuesday
at 2 p. m. She died at the Independence
hospital Saturday at 5 p. m.

The Rev. Charles Vance, church
of the Nazerene, will officiate at
the service and burial will be at
Woodlawn cemetery. The body will
lie in state at Brant funeral home.
Mrs. Palides, born at Gibbs, Mo.,
on July 29, 1888, was an Oelwein
resident for 32 years. She was the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John C.
Davis.

Those surviving are her husband,
James, Oelwein, sisters, Mrs. Edna
Bebberness, Norfolk, Neb., Mrs.
Emma Flynn, Muncie, Kan., two
mothers, Alfred Davis Kansas City,
Mo., and Andy Davis, also several
nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Palides was a gold star
mother of the VFW and Legion
auxiliary and a member of Ruth
guild of First Presbyterian church
