Mary E. DeWolf was born July 10th, 1852 in
Pennsylvania. Later she came to Iowa with
her parents. In the year of 1877 she was
united in marriage to Edward Watson, whose
death occurred March 20, 1900.
To this union two sons were born, Charles H.
with whom she resided until her death, and
Clyde, whose death occurred in 1907.
She had been in ill health for past five years.
Mrs. Watson has resided in Fayette county
since coming to Iowa, making her home at
Oelwein for the past 35 years. She is survived
by one son Charles, one granddaughter, other
relatives and many friends.
The funeral services were held at the home
Friday at 2:00 pm conducted by Rev. C. E. Hillis,
pastor of the First Baptist church. The
interment was in Otsego cemetery.
Relatives from out-of-town were Miss Lillian
Culver, Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Tuttle
and son Glen, Letcher, South Dakota; Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Squires, Mr. and Mrs. Almond Squires,
Mr. and Mrs. Lang of Strawberry Point, Iowa.
