OELWEIN - Caroline Jahncke, 86,
of Oelwein, died Thursday, Jan. 23, at
Mercy Hospital, in Oelwein.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m.,
Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Zion American
Lutheran Church in Oelwein with the
Rev. Alan Wolkenhauer officiating.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery
in Oelwein.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m., today,
Friday, at Brant-Kerns-Jamison Funeral
Home in Oelwein, and one
hour before services at the church.
A V.F.W. Auxiliary memorial service
will be held at 7 p.m., Friday at the
funeral home.
She is survived by her husband,
Alvin; a son, Eugene, Cedar Rapids; a
daughter, Maxine Teague, Oelwein;
five grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren;
and three great grand children.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, a son, James, and a grandson
Steven.
She was born, Nov.28, 1905, in rural
Sumner, the daughter of Henry and
Minnie Bittner Mohlis. She married
Alvin Arthur Jahncke, March 26,1926,
at St. John's Lutheran Church in
Sumner.
