The death of Charles Aderman occurred at his home in this city Friday evening, October 2nd. The funeral occurred from the Lutheran chruch Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Interment at Fairbank. He was born November 7, 1830 in Prussia, and was therefore 72 years, 10 months and
25 days of age. He had four brothers, of whom two preceeded him to the other world, while two are yet living in Germany. In 1854 he emigrated to America, making his home in Wisconsin where he was married to Miss Marie Tribun who survives him. To this union was born thirteen
children, of whom six, Frank, Albert, Henry, Alvine, Mary and Clara are living. In 1860 he came to Iowa, settling first in Buchanan County, then in Blackhawk county where the family remained eighteen years. Then they bought the well known homestead near Oelwein, from which Mr. and Mrs. Aderman and two daughters moved to Oelwein about a year ago. About three years ago his spine was injured by an accidental fall, and since that time he has been feeble. Several weeks ago his health began to fail rapidly, until he fell asleep Friday evening. He was a firm believer in the christian faith, and was a great reader of the bible.
He retained his memory and quoted numerous bible passages, and thus comforted his soul to the end.
