Arthur Molokken
Services for Art Molokken, 80, were Friday, April 18 at First Lutheran Church in rural Ossian with Rev. Dennis Hugdahl officiating. Burial was in the First Lutheran Cemetery. Schutte Funeral and Cremation Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements.
Arthur Joseph Molokken was born May 3, 1927, on the farm in Dover Township near Clermont to Andrew and Julia (Kleppe) Molokken. He died Sunday, April 13 at Palmer Lutheran Health Center in West Union.
He was baptized and confirmed in First Lutheran Church. Art attended Dover No. 6 country school.
October 12, 1952 he married Lyla Arlene Osmundson in the Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Ossian. They had three children.
Art farmed all of his life in Dover Township. He was a member of the Rural Clermont Fire Board for over 30 years, Farm Bureau and the Cattlemen's Association and a life time member of First Lutheran Church.
He was a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in West Union since May of 2001. Art enjoyed bingo but especially liked the coffee time and visiting with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Julie Fulsaas; a grandson, Kendal Pritchard; a brother, Levi and wife, Lydia Molokken; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Molokken; and a brother-in-law, Dale Seitz.
Surviving are his wife, Lyla; his children, LaRita Pritchard, Des Moines and Randy Molokken, Clermont; a sister, Donna Seitz, Clermont; two brothers, Edwin (Mabel) Molokken, and Melvin (Eileen) Molokken, all of West Union; and three grandchildren, Christy Pritchard, Chad Pritchard, and Kyle Pritchard and one great-grandchild, Mikayla Johnson.
