Mamie Fox was born Doc. 23, 1872, in Fayette county, to Oney and Mary Sayles. She died July 22, 1961, at Iowa Methodist hospital, Des Moines. Mamie Sayles and Oran Fox were married Dec. 23, 1891, and the couple had nine children, four of whom survive. They are Mrs. Glenn Reed, Springfield. Mo.; Mrs. Sumner Griffon, Des Moines; Floyd of Independence, and R. Donald of Oak Lawn, Ill. She also has seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Memorial services were held in Des Moines, July 24, and funeral services were held in Fairbank Baptist church July 25, with burial in Fairbank cemetery.
