Waverly—Mrs. Magdalena Fehring,
87, Sunday of complications
of age; born Apr. 25, 1859, at
Schleswig-Holstein, Germany,
daughter of Frederich and Dorothea
(Nissen) Mass; they came to
America when she was 14, settling
in Bremer county; her entire life
was spent in Bremer and Buchanan
counties. Was married to Nicholas
Fehring and began housekeeping on
a farm east of Fairbank
bank, where they lived three years
and later moved to a farm four
miles northwest of Fairbank; came
to Waverly 36 years ago; leaves
one son, Peter Fehring, Waverly;
three daughters, Mrs. Albert Zierjack,
Fairbank; Mrs. Edward
Bergmann, Tripoli; Anna Fehring,
Waverly; nine grandchildren
and two great grandchildren; funeral,
Wednesday at 1:30 p. m. at
the home and 2 at St. Paul's Lutheran
church in Waverly; burial
in Fairbank cemetery.
