Anna Fereday Derflinger (1856-1930)

Anna Fereday was born April 2, 1856 at Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and as a small girl came to Iowa with her parents and located at Arlington, Iowa on a farm where she grew to womanhood.

In the year 1875 she was united in marriage to David Derflinger, and to this union was born two children Thomas and Ray who are her immediate survivors.

Among the other relatives besides her brother Benjamin Isaac and Allen are two sisters Mrs. Charlotte Higman of Manchester, Iowa and Mrs. Mary Barett of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She leaves also one granddaughter Doris Derflinger of Valley Jct. Iowa.

She moved to Oelwein 54 years ago and has been a resident since. She was a member of the Christian church for the past 30 years.

She has been a patient sufferer for the past two years with dropsy and other ailments. She departed this life December 25 at 1l:40 am and went home to her Father in Heaven on the great day of days, Christmas day.

Interment was at Union cemetery, twelve miles east of Oelwein, Saturday, December 27th.
