Albert O. Schmidtke, 82, retired postal employee, died Tuesday, July 4 at 7:30 pm at Schoitz Hospital, Waterloo. The longtime area resident lived at 106 Seventh Avenue, S. E. Funeral services are pending at Hintz Funeral Home where friends and relatives may call after 2 pm Thursday.

Survivors include his wife Maude, Oelwein; one daughter Mrs. Odell Duckett, Park Ridge, Illinois; one son Lowell Schmidtke in South Carolina; three brothers Rudolph (Oelwein), Fred and Reinhardt.
