AUBREY C. GUYER

Funeral services for Aubrey Guyer were held Monday, August 15, 1983 at 1:30 p.m. at the West Clermont Lutheran Church in Clermont. The Rev. Kim Peterson and the Rev. Trudy Peterson officiated. The Burnham-Wood Funeral Home of West Union was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in God's Acres Cemetery in Clermont.

Aubrey C. Guyer, son of Ethan and Emma Nelson Guyer was born March 3, 1904 in Fayette County. He passed away at LaCrosse Lutheran Hospital August 11, 1983.

He was baptized and confirmed into the Clermont Lutheran Parish. He graduated from high school in 1925 and attended Upper Iowa for 2 years.

On August 21, 1927 he was married to Mabel Christianson. This union was blessed with 15 children. They farmed for 41 years.

Aubrey was active in the community and the church. He served on the Palmer Memorial Hospital Board and was a teacher in Sunday School and in the Bethel Bible Study Program.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three grandchildren.

Surviving are five sons, Douglas, Ossian; Rodney and John, Clermont; Ethan, Elgin; Gary, Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Ten daughters, Mrs. Sigvart (Patricia) Hofland, San Diego, California; Mrs. Carl (Angeline) Andrews, Palo; Mrs. Paul (Beatrice) Benjegerdes, Postville; Mrs. Leslie (Arabella) Kleppe, Ossian; Mrs. Alan (Kay) Behnken, Monona; Mrs. Harry (Wanita) Pape, West Union; Mrs. Steve (Olivia) Drewes, West Union; Mrs. Robert (Rebecca) Keehner, Luana; Mrs. Gary (Rachel) Woodson, Waterloo; and Mrs. Dale (Cynthia) Bilden, Postville; 67 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, three brothers, Jesse, West Union; Lawrence, West Union and Lyle, Clermont; and a sister, Rose Olson of Clermont.
