This following obituary is from a yet unknown Paper in the area.
It was found in the Historical Society files, directly across the street from the courthouse.

RANDALIA MAN'S FUNERAL HELD ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON [March 1949]
Randalia----- Funeral service for Edward T. Smith, 75, who died at his home at Randalia on March 25, following a stroke he had suffered March 4, was held Sunday, March 27, in the Methodist church at 2 o'clock , Rev. W. Dimmlich, Sumner, officiated.
Mrs. S. Rubyor and Mrs. Mayme Severson, accompanied by Mrs. Walter Butts, sang " Under His Wing" and " Beautiful Isle Somewhere." Burial was made in Dunham Grove cemetery with Fred Bacon, H.A. Mabon,George Traeger and Ray Grant as pallbearers.

Edward T. Smith was born Oct. 14, 1873, at Madison, Green county,Wisconsin, the third child of Frederick and Rika Smith. In 1881, he came with his parents from Wisconsin to live near Hawkeye, and has been a resident of Fayette county ever since.

On Oct. 12, 1923, he was united in marriage to Mabel Hack, Randalia. He is survived by his widow and five children by a former marriage. Edwin, Evanston, Ill.; Royal, Conrad; Mrs. Gladys Haggie, Evanston Ill.; Mrs. Maella Knoll, Rock Falls, Ill.; Raymond,Guttenberg; four sisters, Mrs. Ella Butler, Mrs. E. A. Smith, Hawkeye; Mrs. Charles Rogers, Randalia; Mrs. Ray Arnold, Antioch, Ill.; and seven grandchildren. Four sisters and two brothers and both parents preceded him in death.
He was a member of Randalia Methodist church several years.
