Guy Frances Miller, son of Abraham L. and Josephine Miller was born on a farm near Aurora August 31, 1889 and died July 10, 1946. His youth was spent around Aurora and on June 3, 1915 he was married to Nellie Bly Floyd.

To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Jean Schlumbohm of Aurora and Mary Josephine who passed away at the age of two years.

Most of their married life was spent in farming in the Stanley community and it was there his wife of twenty five years died on March 28th, 1940.

Twenty years ago he underwent an operation for brain tumor and for a few years it seemed he had regained his health but twelve years later he underwent an operation for the same malady and again in July, 1944.

Besides his daughter, Jean, and granddaughter, Frances Marie, he leaves to mourn his passing the following sisters and brother, Mrs. Orpha Parker, Mrs. Donna Kivell and Ralph Miller of Aurora, and Mrs. Arlie Morgan of Stanley; also twelve nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian church of Oelwein on Sunday afternoon, July 14, at 2:30 o'clock, with Rev. L. W. Hauter officiating. Mrs. C. B. Hintz, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Sophie Tait, sad, "Abide with Me" and "We're Going Down the Valley" The casket bearers were Harold Brownell, Charles Morgan, John King, William Spence, George Hill and R. M Kline. Burial was at Otsego cemetery.
