Mr. S. Westgate died at the residence of his son S. S. Westgate last Friday night, at the age of 83 years. Mr. Westgate has lived here nearly 20 years and was well known to all. About two years ago his wife died and during all this time he has been very feeble. He has looked forward to the time (when he should be called from this earth with much pleasure) and life was spent with this in view. His death was also very peaceful as he was taken away so gradually and by no disease, but old age being the cause. He leaves two sons here and one in Missouri to mourn the loss of a kind father. Funeral services were held at the M. E. Church on Sunday. Rev. Fleming preaching the funeral sermon.
