Jane White Tony (1830-1911)

Jane A. White was born May 10, 1830 in Ohio and passed away in Chicago, Illinois, March 26, 1911, having lived eighty years and ten months.

She was married to Selbert Tony in Michigan City, Indiana, September 29, 1853. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Reynolds of Chicago.

The family came to Iowa in the early sixties making their home in Fort Dodge and later living in Manson, Sumner and Oelwein. Mrs. Tony was an active member of the Womens Relief Corps in this city.

Funeral services were held in the Oelwein M. E. church Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. Crowder. The body lay in state at the home of Peter Woodring until hour of service. Interment in the old cemetery (Oakdale).
