A Celebration of Life for Bethel C. Sieck, 72, of Fayette was held Saturday, Dec. 22, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fayette. The Rev. Timothy Parker officiated.

Interment was in Grandview Cemetery, Fayette. Casket bearers were Deric Sieck, Donnie Sieck III, Dane Sieck, Hank Sieck, and Mason McCort.

Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Fayette, handled the arrangements.

Bethel's death occurred Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nev., following a brief illness.

Bethel Carolyn (Biemann) Sieck, daughter of William and Derothea (Venable) Biemann, was born April 10, 1935, in rural Denver, Ia. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Denver.

After graduating from Denver High School in 1953, Bethel married Donald Sieck on July 27 of that year at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Westgate.

Bethel was a cosmetics consultant in her early years, and later in life she served as an EMT, a Hospice volunteer, and helped at the day care center in Fayette. She was also a volunteer at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette.

An active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Fayette, Bethel had served as president of the Ladies Aid.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson.

Bethel is survived by her husband, Don, of Fayette; seven children, Steve (Patty) Sieck of North Glen, Colo., Kathy (Ed) Traeger of Readlyn, Donald (Shelly) Sieck Jr. and David Sieck, both of Fayette, Karen (Glen) McCort of Cedar Rapids, Susie (Mark) Caffrey of Minnetonka, Minn., and Robbie (Faye) Sieck of Cedar Rapids.

Also surviving are 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, William (Betty) Biemann of Denver; two sisters, her twin Ethel (Larry) Lindaman and Bonnie (Jim) Wilson, both of Waterloo.
