Mrs. Ella Billmeyer, 70, died last Wednesday, Jan. 19, at the home of her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Sorenson, Stewartville, Minn., where she had gone over a year ago to make her home, due to failing health. Her death was caused by pneumonia following flu. The funeral was held Friday at Auburn, Fayette county, which was her birthplace and almost life long home.

Mrs. Ella Billmeyer, widow of the late Charles Billmeyer, died Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 19, after an illness of several months.

She was born in Auburn township June 7, 1873, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Lee, and lived in that vicinity most of her life. She was married Feb. 22, 1893, to Christopher Chapman. She was again married, April 3, 1902, to Charles Billmeyer, who died in June, 1941. They became the parents of one child, a daughter.

Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Maurice Sorenson, Stewartville, Minn.; one brother, Clifford Lee, McGregor; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; five nieces, and two nephews. Her parents, two sisters, and one brother died before her.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday from the Auburn church by the Rev. G. W. Ukena, paster of Bethel Presbyterian church of West Union. Burial was in Auburn cemetery.
