Funeral services for Lucille A. Wardell, 77, of Oelwein, Iowa, were held Thursday, Dec. 13, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein with the Rev. Harry Koelker celebrating the Mass.

Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.

Geilenfeld Funeral Home, Oelwein, was in charge of arrangements.

Lucille died at her home Sunday morning, Dec. 9, 2007, following a short illness.

Lucille A. Wardell was born May 29, 1930, in Oelwein to John S. and Agnes E. (Egan) Aubrey.

She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1948.

On Feb. 12, 1950, she married Kenneth E. Wardell at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein and became a homemaker.

Lucille was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Kenneth; a brother, Bill Aubrey; and a sister, Lorraine Short.

Survivors include her children Michael A. (Patti) Wardell of Oelwein and Alan E. (Pam) Wardell of Oelwein; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kate Steffen of Waterloo and Peggy Sproull of Winthrop; and two brothers, Gus Aubrey of Oelwein and Bob Aubrey of Clinton.

A memorial has been established in Lucille A. Wardell's name.
