Clarissa Cole was born in Sherburn, Chenango County, New York, July 4, 1829. Came west in 1856. She taught school for a number of years in this vicinity. She was married May 11, 1862 to Mr. Hughson. Moved to Maynard in 1886 and Mr. Hughson died March 3, 1887. Mrs. Hughson has been confined to the bed two years and a half with rheumatism. She died November 12, 1894 aged 64 years, 3 months 19 days. The funeral was held at the M. E. church Nov. 14th, Rev. Goodsell officiating. His discourse was from Rev. 2, 10. The remains were taken to Otsego for burial.
