Oliver Theodore Thoresen

Oliver Theodore Thoresen, son of Albert and Cora (Reierson) Thoresen, was born April 10, 1921 in Clermont. He was baptized on May 15, 1921 and later confirmed his faith May 17, 1936 at the East Clermont Lutheran Church by Pastor Gustav Gunsten. He attended the Follet Country School.

Oliver worked for John and Helen Hansmeier for over 30 years. In July of 1990 he went to the Allamakee County Care Facility. In August of 1991 he fell and broke his hip and then went to live at the Elkader Care Center.

Oliver died April 24, 1993 at the Elkader Care Center. He was 72. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Evelyn Kibler and Alice Saboe.

Oliver is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Ione Saboe of West Union, Mrs. Mildred Nation of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Mrs. Donna Anderson of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
