Funeral services for Ellen Searles, 56, were Friday, Oct. 12 in Schutte's Clermont Funeral Chapel at Clermont, Iowa, with The Rev. Dwight Albers officiating.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m., at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Kenosha, Wis., with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Following the service there will be a time of fellowship at the church.

Evelyn died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, in Palmer Lutheran Health Center at West Union.

Ellen Marie (Paul Searles) was born Jan. 26, 1941, at Alpha, to Clayton "Zeke" and Florence (Richardson) Paul. She graduated from Kenosha High school and received a BA degree in English from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

On June 19, 1962, Ellen was married to Harry William Searles at Kenosha, Wis. To this union two sons were born, William "Ben" and Phillip.

They have lived in Clermont since 1997. Ellen worked at GridWorks in Elgin and the former Valhalla Supper Club in downtown Clermont.

Ellen was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Allen Searles, and her father, Clayton "Zeke" Paul.

Surviving are her husband, Harry Searles; a son, William "Ben" (Sarah) Searles of Kenosha, Wis.; a daughter-in-law, Karen Searles, Poplar Grove, Ill.; three grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, and Heather Searles; her mother, Florence Paul Wessilius, of Kenosha, Wis.; her mother-in-law, Elizabeth "June" Searles, Postville; three brothers, Tom (Judy) Paul of Solon; Doug (Linda) Paul of Iowa City; Rick Paul of Kenosha, Wis; five sisters, Alice (Bob Petrik) Gaertner of Naples, Fla.; Fern (Tom) Cerqua of Kenosha, Wis.; Karen (Larry) Byrnes, of Ponte Verda, Fla.; Cindy (Roberto) Delgadillo of Kenosha, Wis., and Liz (Marce) Greco of Clermont, Fla.
