Celebration of life services are today, Wednesday, Oct. 17, for Arthur C. Anderson, 70, who died Oct. 11, in the McAllen, TX, Medical Center, following a fall in his home. Rev. Dr. Donna Meinhard officiated at the services, held at 10:30 a.m. in the Hawkeye United Methodist Church. Becker-Milnes Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in Dunham Grove cemetery, rural Randalia. Casketbearers were Aaron Rochford , Erich Gamm, Dave Smith, John Miller, Caleb Baker and Allan Halverson, Honorary bearers were Steve Kennon, Jack Sullivan, Don Bachman, Dillon Wright.

Arthur Charles Anderson, son of Harry and Cecil (Appelman) Anderson, was born Aug. 26, 1937, in rural Hawkeye, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed in the Randalia Methodist church. He graduated from Randalia High School, in 1955.

Arthur and Mildred Vargason were married, Dec.15, 1956, in the Randalia Methodist church. They farmed north of Randalia, until they retired in 2003. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, meeting people and spending time with his family.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Roy Anderson.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred, Randalia; three children, Debra (Pat) Rochford, Hawkeye; Bruce (Diane) Anderson, Hawkeye, and Jill (Derik 'Chip') Wright, Robinson, TX; seven grandchildren , Joy Jans, Aaron Rochford, Amber Miller; Ashley Rochford; Christal Gamm, Cara Baker and Dillon Wright; nine great-grandchidren; three brothers, Jim (Nadine) Anderson, Hawkeye; Earl (Jacquie) Anderson, Hawkeye, and David Anderson, West Union.and three sisters, Faye Latta, Winchester, VA; Margaret (Jim) Vargason, Weslaco, TX, and Mavis (Bradley) Kimbrell, Mt. Airy, GA.
