LULU DUFFIELD

Funeral services for Lulu Eva Duffield were held Wednesday, May 25 at 10:30 at the United Methodist Church in West Union. The Rev. Stephen R. Root officiated with burial in the West Union cemetery.

Lulu Eva Shawber, daughter of Arthur and Eva (Murry) Shawber, was born March 25, 1892 at Mechanicsville. She died April 25, 1984 at Colorado Springs, CO.

Lulu attended the schools in Mechanicsville and Coe College. She married James Lloyd Duffield in 1921 and the couple made their home in North Bend, NE. They were the parents of a son, James Irvin.

Lulu was a member of the United Methodist church of West Union. She taught music most of her adult working life. Since the death of her husband she lived with her son in Colorado Springs, Hawaii and Saudi Arabia.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Surviving are her son, James, daughter-in-law Hoang Thi, four grandchildren (including Michael, Jacksonville, NC, who is married to the former Connie Wedo) and one great grandchild.
