Marvin Larson passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2002, under the loving care of those at the Good Samaritan Center in West Union, Iowa, at the age of 77 years, 11 months, and 6 days. Sharing his father's birthday, he was born to Bertha Schweinefus Larson and Henry Knute Larson on November 17, 1924. When his mother died, he and his sister, June Rose, joined the family of Henry and Myrtle Schweinefus in Clermont, where he found himself with two more big sisters, now Lois Jellings and Marcy Brehm.

Marvin joined the Navy and served his country during World War II after graduating from Clermont High School. When he returned to Iowa, he went to work for the Interstate Power Company and diligently remained until his retirement. He made his home in both Clermont and West Union through the years. Those who loved him will remember his impish ways and wonderful humor. As a boy, he enjoyed fishing, probably because it allowed him to get away from the houseful of girls. As he got older, he loved hunting with his faithful dogs and giving pony rides to his nieces and nephews. Most of all he enjoyed driving his truck around and stopping to share a beer with a friend. He was a guy that, if he had it and you needed it, it would be yours.

Marvin will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his sister, June Hofer of Napa, California, and his sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Clarence Jellings of Clinton, Iowa, his nieces Kathryn Berry and her family, of Paso Robles, California, and Nancy Bergold and her family of Sacramento, California. Marvin also leaves behind, Sharon Harris, Becky Brendel, Chuck Jellings, Christopher Jellings, Pauline Klameruf, and John Brehm, all of whom he loved and considered his nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was Marcy Brehm, Anne Marie Brehm, Kenneth Brehm, and Mary Brehm Benson.
