HELGA BILDEN

Funeral services for Helga Bilden, 92, were held Jan. 1 at the East Clermont Lutheran Church with Rev. Matt Bersagel officiating. Burial was in the East Clermont Lutheran cemetery. Muehlethaler Funeral home had charge of arrangements.

Helga Marie Bilden, daughter of Ole and Jenny (Lind) Hansen was born March 12, 1892 in Drammen, Norway. She died Dec. 30 at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville. She was baptized and confirmed at the Frogner church in Lier, Norway. At the age of 17 she immigrated to America and made her home with an uncle, Oscar Lind.

April 5, 1910 she was married to Hans Bilden at the parsonage in Clermont by Rev. Valdeland. They had four children. She was a member of East Clermont Lutheran Church since her marriage. She was also active in the ALCW.

Feb 25, 1981 she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center, Postville.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1945, a daughter Josephine in infancy, daughter Mrs. Josephine Loftsgard in 1969, grandson Harlan Bilden, two brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by two sons, Hildor and Tilpher Bilden, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, four sisters, Ingborg Erickson, Magnhild Borgerson, Jenny Hansen and Louise Karlson, all of Norway.

Casket bearers were Bradley Loftsgard, Enoch Hansen, Gerald Blockhus, Myron Houg, Charlie Kohls, and Mervin Reierson.
