CLERMONT MAYOR PASSES AWAY

Richard Griebenow, 56, mayor of Clermont, passed away suddenly about 4:00 p.m. Saturday while in the Clermont Implement Shop, from an apparent heart attack.

Owner and operator of Dick's 66 Service, Mr. Griebenow had served as mayor for nine months. Prior to that time he had served on the town council for 12 years and as fire chief for 15 years.

Survivors include his wife, Esther; a son, Dennis of Oslo, Norway; a daughter Lana of Cedar Rapids and a brother, Leo of Clermont.

Services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in West Clermont Lutheran church. The Schutte Funeral Home is in charge of the service.
