Eleanor "Ellie" R. Wilson

Eleanor "Ellie" R. Wilson, 56, of Edmond, OK, formerly of Elgin, died Wednesday, October 10, 2001, in Oklahoma City, OK, following a brief illness.

She was born May 22, 1945 in West Union to Nanfred and Myrtle (Ruroden) Osmundson. Ellie married Michael D. Wilson on June 4, 1966 in West Union. Two children were born to this union.

Ellie was a very active lady. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Elgin where she had been a Sunday School teacher among other activities. She was a member of the Edmond Newcomers Club and the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. Ellie was involved with the Family Support for the 353rd Engineer Group Army Reserve along with numerous other activities and organizations. She was a lady who could not say no to a volunteer activity.

Survivors include her husband, Michael, Edmond, OK; her mother, Myrtle Osmundson, West Union; one son, Bryan, Dallas, OK; one daughter, Dawn (Paul) Bayarena, Austin, TX; two brothers, Norman (Kathy) Osmundson, Marion and Gaylord (Barb) Osmundson, Cedar Rapids; four sisters, Lyla (Art) Molokken, Clermont, Geneva (Paul) Geeding, Wichita, KS, Diane (David) Lensing, Postville, and Ardy Stockman, Decorah, and her mother-in-law, Norma Wilson, Elgin.

She was preceded in death by her father, Nanfred; one brother, Kenneth Osmundson; one sister, Delores Osmundson in infancy; her father-in-law, Cliff Wilson, and a brother-in-law, David Wilson.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 16, 2001 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Elgin, Iowa, with Rev. Arley Ellingson officiating. Music was provided by Mary Sutter, organist, and Sara Strong, soloist.

Interment was at Elgin Cemetery, Elgin, Iowa. Casketbearers were Tom Cummings, Gary Blumhagen, Charles Shipton, Kerwin Anderson, Cloy Kuhse, Allan Osmundson.
