MRS. ORA LEROY (Emma Mabel Voshell) CRAWFORD
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 11, 1970, at 1:30 p.m., from the Methodist Church, Arlington, for Mrs. Emma Mabel Crawford, 81, who died Monday morning March 9, 1970 at her home in rural Wadena. She had been hospitalized on several occasions from heart attacks.

Rev. Calvin F. Curtis officiated at the service with the Gleim Funeral Home, Arlington, in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Emma Mabel Crawford, daughter of George Voshell and Eva Hall was born Nov. 24, 1888, in Buena Vista County near Marathon, Iowa. Her parents moved to Volga, when she was a small child, where she attended school, and later near Arlington where she grew to womanhood.

She was married to Ora LeRoy Crawford on Oct. 20, 1908 at Wadena. To this union seven children were born, six of whom survive: Robert Russell of Fayette; George Calvin, Bertha Luetta, both at home; Iva Marie (Mrs. Arno Brondenburgh) of Postville; Belma Bell at home; and Nellie May (Mrs. Walter Adams) of Volga. Surviving also are 14 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, five nephews and five nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ora, a son Ralph LeRoy, one niece and one nephew.

She and her husband farmed first in the Arlington area, the former Dave Allen farm, then later in 1918 they bought the farm on which she spent the rest of her life. She loved her flowers and the farm, caring for her flowers to the end of her life. Burial was in the Taylorsville Cemetery, Arlington.
