MRS. LLOYD (Clara Tilda Erickson) AANES

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at the Schutte Funeral Home and 2:00 p.m. at West Clermont Church for Mrs. Lloyd Aanes, 55, who passed away at Postville Hospital on July 25.

Rev Frederick R. Ludwig, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Postville, officiated in the absence of Rev. A. O. Nessit, pastor of the West Clermont Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Clermont cemetery.

Clara Tilda Erickson Aanes, daughter of Sam and Caroline Erickson was born September 13, 1895 in Marion township, Clayton county and passed away July 25, at the Postville Hospital at the age of 55 years, 10 months, 12 days. She was baptized October 20, 1895 in Marion Lutheran Church and confirmed on October 17, 1909 in East Clermont Lutheran Church.

On March 8, 1916 she was married to Lloyd Aanes. To this union six children were born. Mrs. Aanes was an active member of East Clermont Lutheran Church until 1942 when she transferred to West Clermont Lutheran Church where she continued her interest and work in all church activities.

Mrs. Aanes is survived by her husband, Lloyd; six children, Lyle, Clarice, Jean, Earl, Gerald, and Keith. Also four grandchildren, David and Debra Aanes; Steven and Susan Aanes; her mother, Mrs. Caroline Erickson; three brothers and five sisters, namely: Mrs. Bertina Buraas, Mrs. Mellien Loftsgard, Selmer Erickson, all of this locality; Albert and Elmer Erickson of Erskine, Minnesota; Mrs. Carl Smith, Ames; Mrs. Florence Hein and Mrs. Myrtle Andrew, Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her father, Sam Erickson, and one brother, Peter Selmer.

Friends and relatives from a distance attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Erickson, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Erickson and Wayne, Erskine, Minnesota; Mrs. Carl Smith, David and Carol, Ames; Mrs. Florenace Hein, Mrs. Myrtle Andrew, Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Milo Halverson, Spring Valley, Minnesota; Mrs. Thomas Lien, LeRoy, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. Clemens Loftsgard, Cedar Rapids; Irene Erickson, San Francisco, California; Mr. and Mrs. Marion Lind and family, H. J. Sticken, Manchester.
