Funeral services were held Monday, December 11, 1961 at 1:30 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral chapel in Postville for Albert J. Schave of Clermont, the Rev. John Kronlokken in charge. Interment was made at the Oakland Cemetery in Waukon.

Albert John Schave, 72, of Clermont died Thursday evening, December 7, at the hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and one sister.

Survivors are his wife, Neva; a daughter, Mrs. Alto Dahlstrom, Norma, of Waukon; two sons, Albert Jr., and Robert, both of Madison; two stepsons, Cecil and Lyle McBurney, both of Des Moines; two brothers, Charlie and William Schave, both of Castalia; 23 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Schave was born January 19, 1899 at Monona, Iowa, son of the late Henry and Minnie Wedo Schave. He was baptized as an infant in 1889 and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Eldorado. Later he transferred to West Clermont Lutheran Church on January 10, 1947. He was married to Neva Ritchie on April 28, 1926. He has lived most of his life in and around Clermont, working many years in a blacksmith shop.
