Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Schott were held Monday, July 7, 1997 at 1:30 p.m. in the West Clermont Lutheran Church at Clermont, Iowa. The Rev. Joseph Nesheim officiated. Special music was provided by Deb Mott, soloist, and Pat Butikofer, organist. The Schutte Funeral Service of Clermont was in charge of arrangements. Burial in God's Acre's Cemetery.

Ruth Rosella Schott, daughter of Charles and Cora (Flack) Entwisle, was born May 4, 1909 in Franklin Twp., Allamakee Co., near Monona, Iowa. She passed away July 3, 1997 in the Good Samaritan Center at West Union, Iowa. She reached the age of 88 years, 1 month and 29 days.

Baptized in the United Methodist Church in Monona, Iowa, Ruth grew up in the Monona area and attended the rural schools near her home.

On May 14, 1927 Ruth was married to Fred Schott at Hawkeye, Iowa. To this union 7 children were born. The couple farmed in the West union area until 1950 when they moved to a farm southwest of Clermont. Fred passed away in 1964. Ruth continued living on the farm and then moved to Clermont. Following an illness in 1992, she moved in with her daughter Jane and Erine Helgerson. She became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center of West Union in March of 1996.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred, a son Arthur Schott [1985], 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Surviving are a daughter Jane and husband Erine Helgerson of Clermont, Iowa; 5 sons, Marvin Schott and wife Dora, of Preston, MN.; Lawrence Schott and wife Doris, Willis Schott and wife Shelvy, and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Arthur (Marilyn) Schott, all of Clermont, Iowa; Duane Schott and wife Joyce and Garry Schott and special friend, Karolyn Moritz, all of West Union, Iowa. Also surviving are 44 grandchildren, 81 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren, a twin sister Ruby Haywood of McGregor, a sister Harriet Konichek of Grundy Center; and a brother Lloyd Entwisle of Hawkeye, Iowa.

Casket bearers were Jerry Anderson, Randy Wiedenhoff, Jed Siebrecht, Danny Kohls, John Bannett and Wade Schott.
