Rites Held For T. J. Wetherbee

Funeral services for Thomas J. Wetherbee, were held Monday, Oct. 29, 1979 at 1:30 p.m. at Community Presbyterian Church in Postville. The Reverend Dennis E. Morey officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in God's Acre Cemetery at Clermont.

Thomas J. Wetherbee was born Sept. 8, 1909 in West Union. He was the oldest of four children born to James M. and Ellen (Richardt) Wetherbee. He attended the West Union public schools and spent his boyhood days in that area. Tom passed away Oct. 26, 1979 at Community Memorial Hospital in Postville.

December 24, 1938 he was married to Mae Esther Paulson of Clermont. They moved to a farm north of Hawkeye where they lived for nine years, in the spring of 1948 they moved to the farm northeast of Postville. They retired from active farming about five years ago.

He received his fifty-year membership pin from the Odd Fellows Lodge of West Union, Sunday, Oct. 21.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters in infancy and a sister, Mrs. Mildred Koch.

He is survived by his wife, Mae and several nieces and nephews.
