Christiana Schwarz was born at Zaberfeld, Brakenhekm, Wuertenberg, Germany March 17th, 1856. She was wedded to John Rueber in April 1875. In 1883 they landed at Albany, Wisconsin and in 1885 near Maynard, Iowa, where they lived until 1917. The one year was spent in Los Angeles, California. Here the husband passed to the beyond. Her death occurred on December 4, 1924, at the home of her daughter in Oak Park, Illinois, thus having attained the age of 68 years, 7 months and 17 days. She was the mother of 14 children; two, Frederick and William preceded her in death. The bereaved ones are her sons, August, Henry, Charles, Robert, Jacob, Chris, Martin, Herman, and Albert, one daughter Julia, now Mrs. Louis Bender, 34 grand children and one great grand child, two brothers, Charles and Jacob Schwarz, the sisters Mrs Fredericka Decker and Mrs Caroline Steffan, many neices and nephews and numerous other relatives. The last rites were held from the Gust Rueber home Monday at one p.m. followed by services from the Luthern church in Westgate, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Webeking. Interment near Westgate. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, bledded be the name of the Lord. She is not dead but sleepeth.
