Services were held Tuesday, July 15, 1986, at 2:00 p.m., at the Wadena Presbyterian church for Earl W. Gibson, 76, Wadena. Burial will be at a later date. Brant-Kerns-Jamison Funeral home handled the arrangements.

Gibson died Saturday, July 12, 1986, at Palmer Memorial Hospital, West Union, following a lengthy illness.

The son of William A. and Stella (Mosher) Gibson, he ws born at Aurora on February 27, 1910. He grew up and engaged in farming in that area.

On December 31, 1935, he married Leona Florence Schweitzer at Galena, Illinois.

Mr. Gibson was a rsident of Wadena the past 15 years and before that lived for 10 years in the Fayette area after being a long-time resi­dent of the Aurora area.

He was a founding member of the Iowa Beef Producers, a member of the Aurora School board and the Buchanan County board and Fayette County ASCS.

Survivors include his wife, Leona; three sons, William, Aurora; Alanson, Elgin; and Monte Joe, Wadena; a daughter, Mrs. Donald Meythaler, Independence; and four sisters, Mrs. Paul Murray, Mrs. Arlo Craig and Mrs. Delbert
Flincuinger, all of Aurora; and Mrs. Lee Griffin, Lamont; 14 grandchildren; and one great­grandchild.

A memorial fund has been established for the American Cancer Society.
