CEDAR RAPIDS - Funeral services for Donald Frank Oldenburg formerly of West Union will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept 28, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Cedar Rapids, with the Rev. Herbert L. Isenberg officiating. Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m., today (Friday) at the Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Mr. Oldenburg, 52, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 1996,at his home after a short illness.
He was born Sept. 20, 1944, in Bloomington, Ill., the son of Carl and Florence Oldenburg. On March 1, 1964, he married Barbara Scott in West Union. Mr. Oldenburg farmed in northeast Iowa until 1970 and has since been employed by Farm Credit Services. He was a member of Rotary Club International,Iowa City Chamber of Commerce, Kennedy Band Parents and Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; one son, Brian of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Marcia (Dan) Hurt of Topeka, Kan., and Cheryl Oldenburg of Columbia, Mo.; his mother, Florence Oldenburg; a brother, Carl,Jr.(Carolyn) Oldenburg of West Union; and a sister, Arlene (Harold) Rients of Fayette.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Sr.; and father-in-law, Donald Scott.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
