OELWEIN - Funeral services for Mildred Etta Inman will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 23, at the First Baptist Church, Oelwein, with the Rev. Richard B. Emery officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein. Friends may call from 3 until 8 p.m. Sunday, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, and one hour before services at the church Monday.
Mrs. Inman, 95, died Thursday evening, June 19, 1997, at the Denver Sunset Home in Denver, after a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 11, 1902, in Dunkerton, the daughter of Edward and Pearl (Troyer) Shillington. She married Levi Delroy "Lee" Inman on Aug. 19, 1919, in West Union. He preceded her in death Nov. 19, 1985. Mrs. Inman was a homemaker and longtime Oelwein resident. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Church Service Circle. She was a past member of Philathea Class, Northeast Iowa Art Association, Rebekah Lodge, the Switchman's Auxiliary and the Bunco Club.
Survivors include three sons, Dr., Lawrence Inman of Danvers, Minn., Warren of Denver, and Ronald of Mason City; one daughter, Vivian Pruckler of Waterloo; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Rose Sheffer of Lombard, Ill., and Margie Kappes of Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee; one son, Edward in 1952, one daughter, Inez Zeek in 1978; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Blanch Strawn; and two brothers, Lavern Shillington and her twin, Milburn Shillington.
A memorial fund has been established for the First Baptist Church.
