OELWEIN - Funeral services for Josephine E. Nemmers will be 11:30 a.m Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein, with the Rev. Mark Nemmers and the Rev. Frederick C. Fangmann officiating. Burial will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Cemetery, LaMotte. Friends may call from 2 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, where there will be a parish scripture rosary at 4 p.m.
Miss Nemmers, 85, died Saturday evening, Jan. 10, 1998, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, after a short illness.
She was born Feb l, 1912, at LaMotte, the daughter of John and Etta (Markus) Nemmers. She was a longtime Oelwein resident where she managed Western Union and was bookkeeper/secretary for DeKalb Seed Company from 1954 to 1976. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi of Oelwein.
Survivors include one sister, Helen (John) Probst of Benton, Wis.; one niece and four nephews; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Randolph of Anamosa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dr.Clarence Nemmers.
