Services for Eunice Halverson, 84, were Wednesday, March 22, at 11 a.m., East Clermont Lutheran Church. The Rev. Dwight Albers officiated. Casket Bearers were: John Amundson, Terry Rose, James Larson, Jeff Reierson, Gregg Kleppe, and David Larson. Burial was in East Clermont Cemetery. Schutte Funeral and Cremation Service of Clermont was in charge of arrangements.

Eunice Julet (Olson) Halverson was born July 19, 1921, to Easten and Julia (Olson) Landsgard, on a farm in Clayton County. She died Sunday, March 19, at her home in Clermont. She was baptized and confirmed in the East Clermont Lutheran Church. She attended the rural school near her home and graduated from the Clermont High School.

Eunice married Alvin Albert Halverson June 5, 1940, at East Clermont Lutheran Church. They began farming with Henry and Agnes Vellersven. They moved to a farm near the East Clermont Church, where they lived many years. They later moved to the farm where Ron and Lee now live. Eunice spent the summers on the farm and lived in Clermont during the winters.

Eunice was known for her baking skills, and she baked pies for the Quarry Lodge for many years. She also made cakes on order for special occasions and always took her homemade rolls to the funeral fellowship lunches and other events.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Alvin.

Surviving are her son, Ronald (Lee) Halverson of Elgin; two granddaughters, Ramona (Michael) Gain, Peoria, Ill., Aimee (Dan) Burkhalter, Chillicothe, Ill., and seven great grandchildren.

Eunice was a member of the East Clermont Lutheran Church and the Women of the ELCA.
