Another one of the pioneer settlers of Fayette county, and this vicinity, has passed over the borderland between time and eternity the past week. At an early hour Monday morning the spirit of A. Y. Wikoff took its flight. Deceased was born in Crawford county, Pennsylvania, March 11, 1828, being nearly 70 years of age. He came to Iowa in 1851, and settled on a farm that is now just outside the city limits, and has resided theron ever since. The cause of death was dropsy, and he had been sick for several weeks. The funeral services are to be held in the Baptist church Thursday afternoon, and burial will take place in the Kint Cemetery south of Coytown.
