On last Thursday afternoon occured the death of Mrs. Fred Schwartz at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Zatsch, near Hazleton, after a long and tedious illness of over a year. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in Oelwein last Sunday afternoon, being conducted by Rev. Nitardy, of the German Lutheran church, their edifice being under a course of repairs so that it could not be used. For the grief sticken husband, parents and relatives there is sympathy of the entire people, and the name of Mrs. Fred Schwartz will long linger in fond remembrance in the hearts of all who knew her. Miss Clara Zatsch was born at Independence, Iowa, May 20, 1860. She was married to Mr. Fred Schwartz, April 2nd, 1881, and in the course of the years that have since elapsed she has lived with her husband near Oelwein. Two children were born to them both of whom have died.
