GOLDEN WEDDING OBSERVANCE FOR CLARK WINDHURSTS

WEST UNION -- A family gathering on New Year's day marked the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Windhurst. Their home was open to friends and relatives during the afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Windhurst were *married 50 years ago in Iowa county, and lived on a farm there for eight years. In 1915 they purchased a farm four miles southwest of West Union, and lived there until moving into town in 1923. For a number of years Mr. Windhurst served as city street commissioner, and later was a McConnon Products dealer until his retirement.

The couple are the parents of three daughters and a son, Elwood, Palm Springs, Calif.; Mrs. Don Wallace, New Hampton; Mrs. Will Keig, West Union; and Mrs. Ralph Bramow, Clinton. There four grandchildren.

The three daughters and their families were present for the celebration Tuesday and another guest was Mrs. Windhurst's sister, Mrs. Ray Tanner, Ladora, who with the late Mr. Tanner, was an attendant at the wedding, 50 years ago.
