DIETEL, John, farmer, Sec. 22; P. O. West Union; born June 24, 1823, in Germany; in 1851, came to Kendall Co., Ill.; in 1855; came to his present farm; owns 225 acres, valued at $20 per acre. Married Mary Smitt March 14, 1855; she was born Aug. 16, 1832, in Germany; had ten children, eight living - Louisa, Ernest, Paulina, Leonard, Mary, Lewis, Soloman and Frank. Are members of the Lutheran Church.
