Streit, Gottlieb, farmer, Section 23; PO Elgin; born Oct. 15, 1839 in Switzerland; in 1868, came to Fayette Co.; in 1871 settled on his present farm; owns 200 acres of land valued at $20 per acre. Married Lany Baumgartner Sept, 1870; she was born in 1848 in Switzerland; have five children --- Samuel, Jacob, Annie, Clara and Baby. Are members of the Church of the New Dunkards.
