He was married in 1857 to Miss Cynthia Goodrich from New York; she was born Nov. 25, 1833; they have had five children - Emma, Charles G., Frank W., Willie, Denton C.; Frank W., Willie, and Denton C. deceased. He has held the office of Township Trustee three years; Township Clerk three years; Township Assessor five years; City Assessor two years; School Director five years; he held the position of Postmaster three years during Johnson's administration. He has a fine residence connected with his furniture store; together, valued at $8,000. Politics, Democratic.
