Carpenter, Ezra, farmer, Section 26 (Harlan township); PO Maynard; born Ohio, August 4, 1842. Since coming to this county, he has held the office of School Director. Married Rebecca I. Simpson June 13, 1866; she was born in Illinois November 9, 1847; have had six children --- Walter, born Jan 20, 1873; Maggie, born Oct 21, 1868; Mary, born Aug 2, 1871; Jennie, born Nov 8, 1873; Lottie, born March 19, 1876, died Feb 8, 1877; Ezra, born Feb 6, 1878. Mr. Carpenter's farm consists of 120 acres.
