Leslie, Mary A., Section 13; PO Eden; widow of Daniel Leslie, who was born in Ohio in 1828. He married the subject of this sketch, Mary A. Coontz, in 1851; she was born in Maryland in 1828; have four children living -- Joseph, Frank, Amanda and Margaret; lost one child who died in infancy. Mr. L. came to this county in 1854 and settled on their present estate of 200 acres, valued at $30 per acre, which was Government land at that time. He was among the early settlers in this town and county, and died in 1872. During his life he held the office of Road Supervisor, School Director and Assessor two terms and always identified with the interests of the town and county. His boys are with their mother at the homestead.
