Leonard, A., farmer, Section 9; PO West Union; born Jan. 6, 1815 in Washington Co., New York; in 1868 came to Fayette Co. Owns 264 acres, valued at $25 per acre. Married Hannah L. Searles, May 22, 1841; she was born May 11, 1815 in Washington Co., New York; had three children --- George H. enlisted in Co. C, 123rd N.Y.V.I.; served about nine months and was killed at the battle of Chancellorsville; their second child, a girl, died in infancy; their third, Nathan B. is supposed to have been killed in the same battle with his brother.
