Crandall, D. H., farmer, Section 16; PO Elgin; born May 23, 1830, in Chautauqua Co., New York; in 1847 went to Cattaraugus Co., New York; in 1854, came to Fayette Co., Iowa; in 1865, removed to his present farm; owns 160 acres, valued at $25 per acre. Married Rosa A. Barnes, March 16, 1852; she was born Aug. 30, 1834, in New York; had five children, four living -- W. H., Walter D., Ellsworth W. and Elmer F.
