McSweeny, J. H., farmer; Section 28 (Fremont township); PO Mill; born in Mongomery Co., Ohio, October 10, 1853; came to this State, settling in Buchanan Co., in 1861, and to this county two years afterward. Married Mary Morehouse February 26, 1874; she was born Ashtabula Co., Ohio, August 5, 1851; their only child, Lula, was born February 2, 1875. Angeline Morehouse, the mother of Mrs. McSweeny, resides with her daughter; she was among the first to settle in this township; her husband, Eli, died in Buchanan Co., some twenty-three years ago; since then, with the exception of what little assistance her daughter Mary could afford, she has, unaided, successfully fought life's battle; although past 66 years she has a vivid remembrance of early instances of events.
